History

In 1968, I Ray Sylvester, from "California Rattler Racing" had a 55 Chevy, then a 57 Corvette in C/Altered and a 180' front engine alky dragster. In 1975, I started racing BB/FC through March of 1980. I had to park the car due to sudden illness for several years, unfortunately. In 1984 we started racing with C.I.F.C.A. through 1999, but also with a 23' T Altered in Goodguys - 1998, 1999, 2000. Crazy Ray

March 5th - 7th we went to the March Meet where we qualified 9th. What do you know, in the first round we ran too quick, 6.97 on a 7.0 index. Our next race was in Las Vegas on the 28th - 30th 7.0 Pro. On the first pass went into severe tire shake and Becky was knocked out for the rest of the 38 second ride, and was in UMC for 21 hours afterwards. Nothing stopped us from rebuilding another chassis, with special thanks to Dad's wallet and TNR Racecars. We went to Bakersfield, CA for a ANRA 7.60 index race, by the 3rd pass SHE WAS BACK! Next was Salt Lake City, UT. WFA August 28th Rocky Mountain Raceway "Heads Up". Becky did well, she had all the men covered tillthe 330 mark. Her main on/off switch decided to say "bye bye", she lost those two rounds. Next race was in Tucson, AZ. WFA Series Finals "Heads Up" October 9th, with a new on/off switch. All three rounds were great, missed the final by a hair. 1st round Becky "The Rattler" had her hands full of a lot of steering wheel, but managed to keep her car of the guardrail and legged it all the way down. She was and still is a crowd pleaser. 2nd run was nice and smooth, no problems at all. By going to two races she is 13th out of 24 other fuel altereds. 2011 we will be racing with WFA or PAFCA. 2011 schedule will be similar to this year, depending on sponsorship.

A New Driver

At 18 years of age in her senior year for a couple of months she learned all the basics there is to know about how to drive a racecar, in her daily driver. So a couple of months passed and she was ready to try out her dads AA/FA. It took her one weekend to get used to drag racing her dads AA/FA. The second she kept breaking loose.

So the third weekend her and her parents went back to L.A.C.R. to try again. They had some important help from Bernie Jongjohn and his track crew.

She did make full passes that same weekend and received her ET-4B NHRA license in February 2003.

In 2004 her and her parents were gearing to run with C.I.F.C.A. but they moved in June to Saint George, Utah.

In 2005, 2006, 2007 she finished 9th/8th/9th in points with C.I.F.C.A. While doing that she wound up upgrading her ET-4B NHRA license to a ET-3B NHRA license, which means she can go as quick as 6 seconds!

They started the 2006 C.I.F.C.A. race season with three sponsors; Andrus Transportation Services from Saint George, Utah, R.E. Borrmann's Steel Co. from Palo Alto California, Southside Alignment & Repair from Sacramento California. At the end of the 2006 season they received a fourth sponsor that was Warrior Blower (now known as Titan Blowers) from Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2008 her dad built a new 540 Dart Chevy motor, they ran it with the 7.0 Pro Association and also port nozzles.

In 2009 we had no active sponsors, so we did several car shows in Southern Utah.

In 2010 they will run two or three of these programs; Heritage Series & 7.0 Pro all races in California except one in Las Vegas, Nevada, also AA/FA program in June heads up in Tucson Arizona. Pro Alcohol Funny Car Association, running on a 6.80 index.

In 2010 we ran the March Meet from the 5th to the 7th in Bakersfield. We ran too quick, 6.97 with the 7.0 PRO. Then we went to the local Harley Davidson Show for Bikers 4 Youth Transplant Camp. It sure was loaded with bikers and our 23T altered. The bikers couldn't believe how small Becky "The Rattler" was andhow well she handled 1200 horses. The Rocabilly Rod Reunion, which was on May 28th - 30th in Las Vegas, was when all hell broke loose. On Becky's first test run on the 28th, her rear tires shook so bad it knocked her out and she was just along for the ride. Meanwhile, her car slammed against the guardrail twice and tried to climb it all the way down, finishing in 38 seconds. For sequence pics go to the 4th page and click on Rockabilly Reunion. We have already rebuilt a new car thaanks to Vince Generabo and dads wallet, and have already test fired it, and lets just say it sounds nice and crips! So our test session will be on August 21st and 22nd in Bakersfield for Andra 7.60 index. If all goes well we will be going to Salt Lake on August 28th "Heads Up" with WFA. Our final race will be in Tucson, AZ on the 9th with WFA Series Finals "Heads Up".

We had a bad year in 2011. Broken parts, a crash at Barona Raceway and a death in the family. We are bouncing back, rebuilding the car and hope to be ready for the first race in April or May of 2012. We wish everyone a great holiday and hope to see you in the 2012 season.
